Overview

During this master class, students will focus on building tune repertoire, enhancing dexterity in melodic ornamentation, and employing techniques in approaching harmonic progressions when arranging tunes. The class will be taught aurally (by ear), with notes and recordings provided after.

This class will be open to harpists of all ages and preferably of intermediate/advanced standard (at least 2 years playing experience required). However, beginners are also welcome to join to gain an understanding of repertoire, technique, and more.

This masterclass is offered as part of a residency with Alfi, the Dublin-based trio who will perform at Oíche Shamhna / An Irish Halloween and in IAC's Café Concert Series.
