Overview
James Cleveland, Thursdays, 6pm—7:30pm
8 weekly sessions beginning Thursday, October 3, 2019
A session (seisiún in Irish) is a gathering of musicians playing traditional tunes, often in a pub. Sessions are super fun, but they can be intimidating for the uninitiated. This ninety-minute class will serve as an introduction to sessions: what to expect, playing in a group, session etiquette, putting together sets and common tunes—but mostly it will be a slow session. We will play tunes at a slow, comfortable tempo, about half the speed (or even slower) than a traditional pub session. Level: beginner/intermediate.
This class requires an instrument. For information about instrument rentals and purchases, click here.
