Whether you’re working on a memoir, novel, short story—or just starting out—point of view is one of your most powerful tools. Every story is shaped by who is telling it and how they see the world.

In this one-day masterclass, we’ll explore how a narrator’s perspective—their experiences, personality, and emotional lens—shapes what appears on the page. Two narrators can describe the same moment in completely different ways, creating entirely different worlds for the reader.

We’ll also look at how point of view influences tone, mood, and pacing, and how your choices around detail and voice can bring a story closer to the reader—or hold them at a distance.

The master class includes:

  • A simple introduction to different points of view

  • Short examples to see how POV shapes a story

  • Writing prompts and time to develop your own work

  • Opportunities to share and receive supportive feedback

  • Group discussion and idea-sharing

This master class is open to all levels, from beginner to advanced.
