Overview
Grásta: Grace in Uncertainty
Billy McComiskey—NEA National Heritage fellow, accordion player, composer, and longtime IAC friend and colleague—is one of Irish America’s eminent traditional music figures, with a body of work across a range of ensembles including the Irish Tradition, Green Fields of America, Trian, and Pride of New York.
For his Grásta commission, Billy collaborates with Donna Long on two new tunes filmed at Creative Alliance in Baltimore, where the slow air "Perpetual Light" meets the hopeful reel "Safe Harbor."
