The Belfast-based Array Collective creates collaborative actions in response to socio-political issues affecting Northern Ireland, employing craic and collaboration as a means of resistance. Their show at Irish Arts Center draws from a wider trajectory of work developed over the past several years, including the Turner Prize-winning installation The Druthaib’s Ball; An Dún, created for the Irish Museum of Modern Art’s (IMMA) 2023-2024 Self-Determination: A Global Perspective project; and the exhibition The Goose and the Common, commissioned by Rua Red South Dublin Arts Centre, which upends the language of protest, surveillance, defence, and displacement.

Under Seaveillance Fabric Printing Workshop
Not sure what to wear to protest karaoke, or simply want to join us in some cathartic fabric printing. Float along to our Under Seaveillance themed fabric printing session where you can create a lino printed textile to embellish your aquatic attire as we reclaim our sense of belonging from the tide of digital sea-veillance and the endless alienated grind.

Cathartic Choruses: Strategies of resistance and resilience in art practice
Panel discussion with members of Array and invited artists to discuss varying strategies of protest and catharsis in art practice. How using performative elements such as song, chanting, keening, and karaoke can work to both disconcert the oppressor and encourage collective solidarity amongst allies.

Under Seaveillance Protest Karaoke
Join us for a night to remember and dress up in your finest aquatic attire as we navigate the seas of change. Become part of our world as our hosts dazzle you with their favorite protest songs and invite you to take the mic, letting your heart go on and professing anything that aims to unite in shoals of solidarity or refuse the shackles of shame.
Come dressed in your best sea-themed protest apparel. Digital pirates; urchins of the deep; sirens of the streets; pearls of the proletariat welcome!
