Irish Arts Center Poem of the Week: Tina Chang's "Fury"

"Like any mother, or parent, I wish to love and protect my son, but there are forces out there that may or may not honor such gestures of protection. I wrote 'Fury' for my son, and for the young Black boys worldwide who struggle to be visible, accepted, and free." Tina Chang, poet laureate of Brooklyn, read "Fury" as part of Irish Arts Center PoetryFest 2019. She is donating the commission earned from participation in our Poem of the Week series to Dream Defenders. dreamdefenders.org
