Ryan Tubridy and P.J. Lynch
Patrick and the President

Sunday, March 5 | 3 PM

Ryan Tubridy, Ireland’s foremost radio and television broadcaster and host of The Late, Late Show, teams up with illustrator P.J. Lynch, Irish Laureate for Children's Literature, to celebrate their first-ever picture book collaboration, Patrick and the President. Ryan and P.J. will entertain both adults and children with the story of their collaboration and their take on the relationship between Ireland and the U.S., especially during the Kennedy years.

Patrick and the President is a captivating children’s book about President John F. Kennedy’s 1963 journey to his ancestral home in County Wexford, Ireland. Written by Ryan and illustrated by P.J., Patrick and the President beautifully evokes a seminal moment in Irish American history through the eyes of a young boy.

Ryan Tubridy is one of Ireland’s leading and best-loved media personalities, gracing both the Irish and U.K. airwaves, and he has won numerous awards and accolades. He is best recognized as the current host of the long-running chat show The Late Late Show, and is also the author of a nonfiction book for adult readers, JFK in Ireland: Four Days That Changed a President. Ryan lives in Dublin.

P.J. Lynch has won the Kate Greenaway Medal twice and the Christopher Medal three times. His research brings impeccable detail to the twenty books he has illustrated, including The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey by Susan Wojciechowski, When Jessie Came Across the Sea by Amy Hest, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, and Mysterious Traveler by Mal Peet and Elspeth Graham, as well as his author-illustrator debut, The Boy Who Fell Off the Mayflower, or John Howland’s Good Fortune. P.J. Lynch lives in Dublin.
