The extraordinary untold story of how an NYPD bomb disposal expert played a key role in helping defuse the decades old Troubles in Northern Ireland.

In 1975, Irish immigrant Denis Mulcahy of the NYPD bomb squad began a program offering children from Northern Ireland respite from the Troubles. His project would ultimately affect twenty three thousand children. With stunning archival footage, and exclusive contributions from Bill Clinton and Martin McGuinness, this feature-length documentary weaves the personal stories of the children against the backdrop of Irish-America’s complex relationship with “home.”

A talk-back with Denis Mulcahy, Des Henderson (director) and Barry Lynch, moderated by Laura Perez (Research Fellow on Children and Armed Conflict at Fordham University’s Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs), will follow the screening.
