One of the most exciting and important writers at work today, Kevin Barry (City of Bohane, Dark Lies the Island, and There Are Little Kingdoms) returns to IAC to discuss his new novel Beatlebone.

Beatlebone is a wild quest tale, a sad and beautiful comedy, and a portrait of an artist at a time of creative strife. It imagines a trip by John Lennon to his island off the west coast of Ireland in 1978, as he searches for answers to life's most pressing questions. Lennon becomes a modern Don Quixote in this bold, lyrical, mordant, funny and incredibly rewarding novel.

Kevin Barry is the author of two collections of short stories—There Are Little Kingdoms and Dark Lies The Island—and the novel City of Bohane, which was the winner of the 2013 International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award.
