"This collection of essays and remembrances is bursting at the seams with talent" —TJ English
Celebrate the official New York launch of The Writing Irish of New York, a collection of original essays and remembrances by Colum McCann, Billy Collins, Luanne Rice, Malachy McCourt and many others who provide personal accounts of how generations of Irish authors found their voice in the Big Apple.
Peter Quinn, Malachy McCourt, Honor Molloy, Maura Mulligan, and Colin Broderick will read excerpts from the book, followed by a conversation with Writing Irish editor Broderick moderated by Quinn. Book signing, live music performed by Billy and Brendan Ryan of Ryan Bros Music, and after-party sponsored by Lot18 to follow.
$5 glasses of wine courtesy of Lot18 will be available for purchase at the bar, with all proceeds going to the Irish humanitarian and poverty relief organization Concern Worldwide.
