Overview
Jazz music thrums with the influence of gospel and the blues, from artists like Bessie Smith, Mahalia Jackson, Ray Charles, Nina Simone, Andy Bey, and others. This installment of Tobin’s Run on 51 travels the terrain forged by the three genres, taking the audience from the crossroads to the pulpit and beyond. Lineup includes the sensational Michelle Walker.

Tobin’s Run on 51 is presented by award-winning Irish vocalist, songwriter, and composer Christine Tobin and acclaimed jazz guitarist Phil Robson, bringing together some of New York’s best Irish and international musicians to play sets and share film clips and stories about jazz music’s greatest artists and treasures.
