The Humours of Bandon

Margaret McAuliffe completed full-time training at the Gaiety School of Acting in 2010. As an actor she has worked with Collapsing Horse, Fishamble, the Abbey Theatre, Rough Magic, and many more. Her most recent productions include Requiem for the Truth (Collapsing Horse at Bergen Fringe Festival, Norway), Anna Karenina (Abbey Theatre), and Jezebel and Digging for Fire (Rough Magic). As part of the 2016 Show in a Bag initiative, she wrote,  produced and performed The Humours of Bandon, which won the Bewley’s Little Gem Award and earned her a nomination for Best Performer at the Fringe Awards. Fishamble has since produced and toured The Humours of Bandon nationally and internationally including Edinburgh Fringe 2017, at the Brighton Festival and at UNOFest, in Victoria, BC Canada in 2018. Margaret won the 2017 ZeBBie award for Best Theatre Script, was a recipient of the Pavilion Theatre’s Patron Artists’ Bursary 2017, and is currently writing a new play as part of Fishamble's A Play for Ireland initiative.

Munich-born but Mallow-raised Stefanie Preissner is the creator of the hit comedy-drama series Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope, originally commissioned by RTÉ in Ireland and since broadcast on BBC Three and made available on Netflix worldwide. Stefanie has also produced a series of short documentaries entitled How To Adult, which she presents for RTÉ's online platform RTÉ Player. Her newly released podcast, RTÉ-SITUATIONSHIPS, co-hosted with Stefanie's best friend Rachel Yoder, looks at a different type of relationship each episode and how to navigate it. Her first feature film script has been commissioned and is supported by Parallel Films the Irish Film Board. Stephanie's one-woman theatre show, Solpadeine is My Boyfriend, enjoyed sell-out runs in Dublin before touring internationally to Bucharest, Edinburgh, and Australia. As a radio play, it became RTÉ’s most downloaded podcast. 

Stefanie graduated from University College Cork with a BA in drama and theatre studies and Spanish. Alongside her career as a screenwriter and playwright, she has won several awards as an actor. She is a regular contributor to Ireland’s Sunday Independent newspaper and her voice is well-recognized for her prolific voiceover career. Her first book, Why Can’t Everything Just Stay the Same?, was nominated for several awards in 2017 and her second book, No. It's a Full Sentence, is set for release in 2019.

Fishamble is an Olivier Award-winning, internationally acclaimed Irish theatre company, dedicated to the discovery, development and production of new work. In 2018 Fishamble celebrated 30 years of new plays in Ireland through its many productions and extensive development programme.

Fishamble is at the heart of new writing for theatre in Ireland, typically supporting 60% of the writers of all new plays produced on the island of Ireland every year. Fishamble has told the story of Ireland over 30 years through daring new plays and award-winning productions. Awards for Fishamble productions include Olivier, Scotsman Fringe First, Herald Angel, Argus Angel, 1st Irish, The Stage, Adelaide Fringe Best Theatre, and Irish Times Theatre awards, as well as Stewart Parker Trust awards for many of its first time playwrights. During 2013, to celebrate the company’s 25th birthday, Fishamble donated its living archive to the National Library of Ireland.

Fishamble is committed to touring throughout Ireland and internationally, and does so through partnerships and collaborations with a large network of venues, festivals, and non-arts organisations. Fishamble has earned a reputation as "a global brand with international theatrical presence" (Irish Times), "forward-thinking" (New York Times), "acclaimed Irish company" (Scotsman), and "excellent Fishamble…Ireland’s terrific Fishamble" (Guardian) through touring its productions to audiences in Ireland as well as to England, Scotland, Wales, France, Germany, Iceland, Croatia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Finland, USA, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. Fishamble typically produces over 200 performances in approximately 50 venues annually, touring from Ballydehob to Brisbane.
