Overview

Get a taste of Ireland’s rich cultural traditions at our 25th annual open house! Guests of all ages can join in a céilí, sample our many educational offerings, make arts and crafts, and delight in the day’s free music and dance performances.

THE DEVLIN CAFÉ
Traditional Music and Dance All Day 

12:15pm–1pm: Anna Colliton (bodhran) and Autumn Rhodes (flute)
1:15pm–2pm: Nic Gareiss (dance) and Cleek Shrey (fiddle)
2:15pm–3pm: Isaac Alderson (pipes) and Matt Stapleton (guitar)
3:15pm–4pm: Pat Mangan (fiddle), Dave Fahy (guitar), and Brandon Asazawa (dance)

THE JL GREENE THEATRE
Music and Dance Performances and Lessons 

12pm–12:45pm: Music and dance performance // IAC’s community céilí band and set dance demonstration
1pm–1:45pm: Music and dance performance // Irish music, dance, and songs for kids and grown-ups with Caitlin Warbelow (fiddle), Matt Stapleton (guitar), and Alexandra Williamson (dance)
2pm–2:45pm: Dance performance and lesson // Irish step dance performance and lesson with Brooklyn Irish Dance Company
3pm–4pm: Music and social dance // All ages gender inclusive céilí dance with Brooklyn Irish Dance Company, with music by Caitlin Warbelow (fiddle) and Matt Stapleton (guitar)

STUDIO CLASSROOM
Arts and Crafts and Film Screenings // Celebrate the award-winning Irish animation studio Cartoon Saloon with activities inspired by their award-winning films.

LIBRARY CLASSROOM
Sample Classes and Workshops

12:30pm–1:15pm: Irish Story Hour in partnership with Children’s Books Ireland (Ireland) and Books of Wonder (NYC)
1:30pm–2:15pm: Irish Language 101 for Everyone
2:30pm–3:15pm: Theater workshop with Neasa Ní Chuanaigh, Branar Téatar do Pháistí’s Meitheal Artist in Residence (Session A)
3:15pm–4pm: Theater workshop with Neasa Ní Chuanaigh, Branar Téatar do Pháistí’s Meitheal Artist in Residence (Session B)
