Overview
The contemporary Irish artist Paul Hughes believes that no painting or series of works exists in isolation. Rather, each interacts with what comes before and after, resulting in a dynamic dialogue between work that allows the collective to function as a single, cohesive body of art. Born from this ethos is a new retrospective uniting four of Hughes' large-scale painting series inspired by the land, seas, skies, and light of Ireland: Bastard Blue, Green is a Myriad, Screaming for Joy, and My Giverny.
Featured images: Paul Hughes, Screaming for Joy No.16; Screaming for Joy No.19; One Place, 3 Moments, Moment 3; My Giverny (the life of a pond).
