Overview
Inspired by decades covering the colorful characters on the Irish American music scene for The Irish Voice and IrishCentral.com, Irish American Writers & Artists member Mike Farragher premieres the pilot for his funny and touching comedy series, McLean Avenue, starring Dublin actor/comedian Joe Rooney (Father Damo in Father Ted) and Nenagh native Gerry Glennon (Immunity, The Girl Who Cannot Speak).
Sean McCabe, a world famous singer with the Paddy Tenors, has fallen on hard times, forcing a move back to the Yonkers flat of his Irish mammy, Peg. Their cousin, Father Frank, is the referee that tries to keep the peace, and both cousin and son encourage Peg to get back on the dating scene after being recently widowed. When Sean and Peg start hitting the same singles bars along McLean Avenue, there’s no putting this Pandora back in the box.
McLean Avenue is written and produced by Mike Farragher and is based on his popular "This Is Your Brain on Shamrocks,” a series of humorous essays of a Jersey boy and his Irish Catholic guilt.
Irish Arts Center is happy to support Mike Farragher by providing a space and support for the launch of his series.
