Overview

Accomplished fiddle player and IAC favorite, Athena Tergis will lead a 90 minute workshop focusing on posture, bowing, ornamentation, style, rhythmic flow, and phrasing as part or her one-week residency with Mick Moloney. Athena has been performing with IAC for many years; you may recognize her from concerts at Symphony Space such as Celtic Appalachian Celebration, Winter Solstice Celebration, and more. She has also been a featured violinist in the production of Riverdance on Broadway and is also a regular soloist and composer with the Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra.

This class is recommended for intermediate to advanced players however beginners are also welcome to join for a greater understanding of position, posture, and more. No music reading skills are necessary but sheet music will be provided for reference.

Students are encouraged to tape/video record the session and bring a notebook.
