This class will be conducted via Zoom. Upon registration, you will receive a link to, and instructions for, downloading the free program. Laptop, desk computer, or tablet with video and audio ability is required.

Overview

Anne Johnson, Thursdays, 6pm—7pm

8 weekly sessions beginning January 29

This course is a follow-up to the basic strategies taught in Learning Tunes by Ear. After a review of topics from the first level, lessons will focus on times signatures, typical rhythms, tune structures, change of key/mode, and the rudiments of improvisation. Class time will be spent on preparatory listening and playing exercises as well as analyzing the construction of actual tunes to facilitate faster aural comprehension. All instruments are welcome.
