Fusing traditional Irish music, Swedish folk, jazz, and percussive dance, the beloved quartet This is How we Fly returns to New York City to perform work from their highly anticipated second album.
Recorded live over three performances in Dublin, This is How we Fly’s new material combines the individual culture and musical vocabularies of these four musicians with a liberated and playful spirit. Having received a rapturous response during their performances at IAC in spring 2015, audiences will again be charmed by their collective voice and undeniable energy fresh off the heels of their latest creation.
Presented as part of the Origins Season at National Sawdust.
“You’ll be charmed and even dazzled by this jazz-tinged stylishly modernized quartet of fiddle, clarinet, drums, and, best of all, percussive dance” —Time Out New York
“Elusive and merciful… This is fresh-faced, unboxable music” —The Irish Times
