This class will be conducted via Zoom. Upon registration, you will receive a link to, and instructions for, downloading the free program. Laptop, desktop computer, or tablet with video and audio ability is required.

Overview

Laura Neese, Tuesdays, 7:30pm–8:30pm

8 weekly sessions beginning April 16

This class will be held online.

In this beginner-friendly course, students will be introduced to basic elements of both hard and soft shoe style Irish step dance, including foundations in form, posture, rhythm, musicality, and conditioning. All classes include a warm up followed by Irish dance-specific drills and steps. Students begin with basic patterns and, over the term, progress to learning reel and jig steps in a supportive and friendly environment. Sneakers are appropriate beginner shoes. Specialized shoes, such as ghillies or ballet shoes and hornpipe or tap shoes, are optional.
