Overview
Laura Neese, Mondays, 7:30pm–8:30pm
8 weekly sessions beginning September 22
In this beginner-friendly course, students will be introduced to basic elements of both hard and soft shoe style Irish step dance, including foundations in form, posture, rhythm, musicality, and conditioning. All classes include a warm up followed by Irish dance-specific drills and steps. Students begin with basic patterns and, over the term, progress to learning reel and jig steps in a supportive and friendly environment. Sneakers are appropriate beginner shoes. Specialized shoes, such as ghillies or ballet shoes and hornpipe or tap shoes, are optional.
Please note that there will be no class on Monday, October 13, in observance of Indigenous People's Day.
