Overview

Following sold-out shows on both sides of the Atlantic and appearances in music festivals across the globe, the beloved Dublin folk ensemble I Draw Slow returns to IAC for a one-night-only performance.

About the band

Featuring siblings Dave (vocals/guitar) and Louise Holden (vocals), Adrian Harton (violin), Colin Derham (clawhammer banjo), and Konrad Liddy (double bass), Dublin's I Draw Slow combines American folk and Irish storytelling traditions with close-harmony vocals, instrumentation, and subject matter. Their second album, Redhills, released in 2011, garnered attention internationally with the breakout track “Goldmine” featured on a Spotify playlist placement. The 2014 follow-up album, White Wave Chapel, reached No. 2 on Ireland’s iTunes chart, driven in part by the video for “Valentine,” which featured Game of Thrones actor Aiden Gillen. In April 2017, the band released their debut with Compass Records, Turn Your Face to the Sun, funded entirely through crowd-funding and tracked over one weekend in County Wicklow, Ireland, with engineer Brian Masterson (U2, Van Morrison).

Between albums, I Draw Slow has toured internationally in both solo shows and festivals, appearing at MerleFest, Pickathon, Wintergrass, RockyGrass, Grey Fox, Red Wing, Edmonton Folk Fest and High Sierra Music Festival. They’ve also appeared on many radio shows, including “Mountain Stage.”
