This class will be conducted via Zoom. Upon registration, you will receive a link to, and instructions for, downloading the free program. Laptop, desktop computer, or tablet with video and audio ability is required.

Overview

Colin Forhan, Thursdays, 7pm–8pm

8 weekly sessions beginning April 18

This class will be held online.

Students will learn basic types of traditional Irish tunes and how to accompany them in a session context. This class will focus on strumming patterns and useful chord shapes, but will also cover the basics of playing melodies. We will also study approaches for identifying appropriate chords for a tune by ear and using a capo to your advantage in a session. Appropriate for students who have completed the Guitar I course, or any player who is familiar with some guitar basics.
