Overview

Featuring Edna O’Brien in conversation with Richard Ford

From her landmark debut, The Country Girls, through sixty years of novels, short stories, poetry, plays, biographies and memoir, Edna O’Brien has stirred imaginations across generations.

The legendary author sits down with Richard Ford to look back on her immense contribution to literature, which upended the literary establishment and broke down social barriers. Featuring a host of authors and actors paying tribute and reading selections from some of her most celebrated works.

O’Brien’s 20th novel, Girl, was published in October 2019.

"Infamous, influential, beloved."The Irish Times

"This famous, infamous, beloved and influential novel didn’t break the mould. It made it."—Eimear Mcbride on The Country Girls
