Overview
Join Liz Hanley, Niall O’Leary, and friends for an afternoon of high-spirited Irish music on the fiddle, accordion, and spoons, as well as a whirlwind introduction to Irish dance by champion Irish step dancer Darrah Carr. Learn the first steps of Irish social dances and their interlacing patterns of circles, squares, and figure eights, and enjoy traditional Irish tunes as we dance together to the bouncy rhythms of jigs and reels. No experience necessary. Free and open to all!
This program is made possible in part with public funds from Creative Engagement, supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and administered by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, LMCC.net. Darrah Carr Dance's family programs are also supported by The Ireland Funds.
