Overview
Celtic tap improv—a style of dance developed by Niall O'Leary—is improvising using syncopation and rhythmic variation to complement and enhance Irish dance. Improvisation in dance means creating combinations as you go along. This master class teaches students how to do this in a structured and fun way using some of the latest Irish dance rhythms and footwork patterns.
This master class aims to teach students how to recognize, memorize, and anticipate rhythms in Irish music, while developing the ability to react to the music.
This class is recommended for intermediate to advanced Irish dancers; tap dancers are also welcome.
