Overview

Award-winning Celtic harpist and scholar, Helen Lawlor, will lead a master class in Celtic harp that explores technique, as well as the history and culture of the instrument. Lawlor is a lecturer in Irish music, ethnomusicology, and music education at Dundalk Institute of Technology. Her research on harping in Ireland focuses on the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, encompassing issues of transmission, gender, identity, and musical styles.

This class is for those with some prior experience playing the harp, and is recommended for intermediate to advanced students.
