Overview

Every St. Patrick’s Day, we celebrate with the most cherished of Irish traditions: sharing our stories. This year, as we look ahead to our production of The United States vs Ulysses, a play about the court case surrounding the publication of James Joyce’s Ulysses in this country, we’ll shine a light on other authors whose works have been banned throughout history, including Edna O'Brien, Claudia Rankine, Sally Rooney, Carmen Maria Machado, Samuel Beckett, and Kaylani Juanita, alongside titles by some of our favorite Irish, Irish American, and NYC writers.

Come get YOUR free book at any Book Day pop-up station across the city. The IAC family of volunteers, staff, sponsors and supporters, along with our partners at the New York City Council, will be out from 8am until the books run out!
