Big City Folk Song Club (Spring 2024)

Big City Folk Song Club host Niall Connolly has released eight studio albums, a live album and an EP. His latest album, Dream Your Way Out of This One, features collaborations with his long term NYC band as well as guest appearances from Glen Hansard (Once, The Frames, The Swell Season), Javier Más (Leonard Cohen’s band) and Deni Bonet (REM, Cyndi Lauper, Sarah McLachlan).

Connolly has toured all over Europe and the US, including festival appearances at Glastonbury, CMJ, Prague Fringe Festival, Acoustic Festival Düsseldorf, Cork Folk Festival, and Cuala NYC. He has opened for Glen Hansard, Lisa Hannigan, Lucius, Evan Dando, Eugene Kelly, Lambchop, Mick Flannery, Wallis Bird, Damien Dempsey, MisterWives, and more. 

He is the founder of Big City Folk Collective. Big City Folk hosts over 100 events annually throughout New York, a concert series in Woodstock, and a biennial music festival.

Sam is a lifelong singer, songwriter, everything else writer, comedian, and actor in New Jersey/New York. She released her debut album in January of 2018, and is currently working on her next release. She regularly sings with Joe McGinty’s Losers Lounge, Scotch Bonnet, and her band Hearts on Fire. Her love of country, soul, and rock comes through in her songwriting and set lists.

Singer-songwriter May Cheung is an acclaimed Canadian artist who released her debut album The Departure in 2017. Hailed as "stunning from start to finish" (Huffpost), her debut spotlights the combination of her consoling vocals and timeless lyrics. Cheung has toured internationally and performs regularly in upstate New York, where she currently lives with her son and husband.

Warren Malone is a New York City based singer songwriter who has shared the stage and billing with everyone from Bert Jansch, Chip Tayor, Lucinda Williams, David Gray, Rosanne Cash, and many more legendary stars. He has released an impressive amount of recorded work and his current offering is JunkYard released in 2023 on New York's Lacy Records. This latest album leans heavily on his early influences from Roy Orbison, Hank Williams, and Charlie Rich, and was recorded live to tape in a day.
