Overview

In lieu of a previously scheduled North American tour, the seminal contemporary Irish world music band Kíla perform an exclusive live-streamed concert to select US and Canadian festivals, venues, and organizations. Irish Arts Center is proud to be a presenter of this virtual event.

Please be sure to register in advance with Kíla to get your all-access pass to this private virtual concert. The event is free to attend and will be available for six hours after the 7:30pm EDT stream (through 1:30am Sunday, Sep 9/27), but donations to the artists are encouraged if you are able to do so. Your support of the arts during these challenging times are vital and greatly valued.

About Kíla

Formed in Dublin in 1988, Kíla's boundary-testing sound, while rooted in Irish tradition, is inspired by myriad global influences, with Irish lyrics and folk instruments fused with djembe, congas, drums, mandolins, brass, and acoustic and electric bass guitars. Kíla have played in more than 35 countries and at notable festivals like the Montreux Jazz and Edmonton Folk Festivals in Canada; WOMAD Festivals in New Zealand, Spain, and Australia; RWMF in Malaysia; Festival de Ortigueira in Spain; the Sziget Festival in Hungary; Electric Picnic in Ireland; Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk Festival, and Boomtown in the UK; and many more.
