Café Concert Series: A NICE Night with Sean Kiely and Friends (Spring 2025)

Sean Kiely is a songwriter, musician, and educator living in Jersey City. His most recent record, Postcards of the Reckoning, was named one of the top ten albums of 2024 by NJ.com and debuted at number 15 on the FAI Folk Chart. Kiely has opened for Richard Thompson and recently performed live in-studio at WFUV. His music has been recognized by the Jersey City Arts Council and the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance. No Depression wrote that his debut album Your Logo, My Logo, "is one of those sublime and unassuming efforts that sneaks up on you until you find it won’t let go."

Lily Talmers writes of the innate divinity in humanity from a palpably Midwestern vantage. Her lyrics are spiritual and strange—vivid images that range from sludge-covered and dismal to childlike and wondrous. Every song on It Is Cyclical, Missing You was recorded live in one continuous take, often with a full band in tow, produced by Talmers herself. Lily Talmers has seen praise from NPR, No Depression, Under The Radar, and The Bluegrass Situation, among others. She won the Kerrville Folk Festival's 2024 New Folk Competition and has opened for the likes of Tommy Emmanuel, The Brother Brothers, and Anna Tivel.

The Day of the Catch is a brand new original short silent film by director Jared Engel. It is a re-imagined dramatization of the true, quirky story of a 1915 publicity stunt by the Brooklyn Dodgers during spring training, when the manager, Wilbert Robinson, attempted to catch a baseball dropped from an airplane flying overhead. It features a live original score performed by Jared Engel and friends.
