Big City Folk Song Club

Big City Folk Song Club host Niall Connolly has released eight studio albums, a live album and an EP. His latest album, Dream Your Way Out of This One, features collaborations with his long term NYC band as well as guest appearances from Glen Hansard (Once, The Frames, The Swell Season), Javier Más (Leonard Cohen’s band) and Deni Bonet (REM, Cyndi Lauper, Sarah McLachlan).

Connolly has toured all over Europe and the US, including festival appearances at Glastonbury, CMJ, Prague Fringe Festival, Acoustic Festival Düsseldorf, Cork Folk Festival, and Cuala NYC. He has opened for Glen Hansard, Lisa Hannigan, Lucius, Evan Dando, Eugene Kelly, Lambchop, Mick Flannery, Wallis Bird, Damien Dempsey, MisterWives, and more. 

He is the founder of Big City Folk Collective. Big City Folk hosts over 100 events annually throughout New York, a concert series in Woodstock, and a biennial music festival.

Chris Michael grew up in a small town in North Carolina listening to a lot of old soul music and country songs. There was also quite a bit of classic rock on the radio, but it's unclear if he was paying attention to much of that. He writes a sort of countrified folk song with some soul-like tendencies. Or maybe a soulful folk tune with a bit of a country inflection. In any case, the general consensus is that he usually tries his best. At least most of the time.

The music of multi-instrumentalist Jenna Nicholls has been turning heads since she arrived on the doorstep of the Lower East Side of NY. Whether she’s crooning a jazz standard, belting out a New Orleans dirge, or plucking her 1920’s style original ballads on her ukulele, she’s giving a vintage genre a new spin with her own lush nostalgic style. 

Recently, Jenna has toured with Ingrid Michaelson and shared the stage with Oscar-winner Glen Hansard, Amanda Palmer, Lucius, and Joan as Policewoman. Jenna has performed in venues all across the country including The Beacon Theater and Carnegie Hall.

St. Lenox is the music project of Andrew Choi. AllMusic notes that Choi’s “creative pursuits have resulted in some of the most unique and unconventionally thrilling pop music in the late 2010s.”  In 2021, St. Lenox was named an Artist You Need to Know by Rolling Stone, who profiled Choi, noting his “sharply evocative and richly imagined tales that … form part of Choi’s larger artistic project of expanding the definition of what gets to be considered an American narrative in the singer-songwriter tradition.” In 2022, St. Lenox appeared on the cover of the Princeton Alumni Weekly, who also profiled Choi, dubbing St. Lenox "The Philosopher's Musician."
