Irish Arts Center Book Day promotes literacy throughout New York, while supporting Irish and Irish American authors. Every year around St. Patrick's Day the Irish Arts Center sets up teams of volunteers at subway locations across all five boroughs to hand out books. Special thanks to Colum McCann for joining us at our third annual Irish Arts Center's Book Day.

Ireland Day at the New York Stock Exchange

Irish Arts Center celebrated Ireland Day at the New York Stock Exchange and was honored at the Gala Dinner, along with Riverdance's John McColgan and Moya Doherty on March 14.


Bloomsday Breakfast in Bryant Park 2011

Culture Ireland and Irish Arts Center partnered to host an Edwardian garden party at A Bloomsday Breakfast in Bryant Park on June 16 as part of Imagine Ireland, Culture Ireland’s year of Irish arts in America. Curated by Belinda McKeon, over 500 James Joycefans enjoyed delicious Irish breakfast, Edwardian dancers, live period music and readings of Ulysses kicked off by Fionnula Flanagan. 



Masters in Collaboration IV: Bill Whelan Meets Athena Tergis

Our celebrated Masters in Collaboration series continued in November pairing Grammy-winning Riverdance composer Bill Whelan with world-renowned violinist Athena Tergis. This weeklong residency culminated with two electrifying performances in the Donaghy Theatre featuring Olivier Fluchaire and a nine piece orchestra, percussionist Robbie Harris and a dance performance by Riverdance star Mick Donegan. Don’t miss your second chance to see this amazing pair in Bill Whelan and Athena Tergis in Concert this Fall 2011 season.
