Bodhrán III: Intermediate
TJ Keevins, Mondays, 7 pm – 8 pm
$170 general / $140 member

8 weekly sessions beginning Monday, April 10th, 2017

In Bodhrán III, we will continue what we’ve learned in our accompaniment of jigs and reels, focusing first on increasing overall speed.  We will continue to develop our ornamentation from Bodhrán II by moving triplets around within the basic jig and reel rhythms to better accompany the melodies of different tunes.  With an increased jig rhythm speed, we will branch into playing hornpipes, covering two different techniques.  We will also touch on playing slip jigs, continue to develop some of the tonal variations learned initially in Bodhrán II, and opportunity permitting, will work on syncopation.
